Intelligence Heads to Apple Vision Pro and What is Good Design in the Age of AI?
A few apps and links to click in the world of artificial intelligence.
Morning y’all!
It’s July 4th week and so a lot of folks are taking the week off (or at least a few days) and that’s nice for everyone who doesn’t since it gives us time to either catch up or have some “time off” without having to officially use any vacation days.
The fact that I’m still trying to “game” the system means that the incentives are all off. Oh well. I’m very happy with collecting a paycheck at this point in time as I need a bit more stability in my life; I think we all go through seasons like that.
Have a great one friends!

Briefy is an AI knowledge assistant that simplifies information consumption. It condenses complex information into summaries, organizes them into a knowledge base, and retrieves knowledge on demand using natural language.
Give it a try here.
Legaliser utilizes AI technology to simplify contract analysis, drafting, insights, and reporting. Create legally compliant contracts effortlessly and efficiently.
I have a bunch of friends in the legal space so I continually send them links like Legaliser to get a hot take (or two).
Apple is trying to bring their intelligence platform to Apple Vision Pro headsets. I personally can’t seem myself dropping that type of money on a headset like that for a long, long time. Right now, it seems like a very expensive toy for folks who have a lot of extra money lying around.
Or am I missing something?
What is “good” design when it all seems like the same, built from the same generators and queries and search patterns? Figma has some thoughts since they have a significant marketshare of, at the very least, attention around their design practices and platform (I use it every single day in my work).
Can the future of (generative) AI be predicted through the competition between Snowflake and Databricks? Perhaps. They all have a lot of data and are rapidly attempting to add AI capabilities on top of it all.
Google shared that they’ve expanded their translation product to support 110 new languages, enabled by PaLM 2 LLM’s model. They eventually want to cover every language on the planet.
Tomas shares his thoughts on the 4 barriers to AI adoption:
Technology
Security
Legal
Procurement
I agree with his final thought that selling AI is not about selling just software.
And finally, Morgan Freeman thanked his fans for calling out AI in a scam. I imagine this is going to become more common.
An interesting read, it seems. Some notes here about it.
Have a great one!
