Claude Sonnet 3.5 is Blowing Minds and Playing Video Games with Your Brain
A few fun tidbits around the artificial intelligence space.
Morning y’all!
I hope you had a good weekend and that you were able to get what you wanted done — whether that’s some personal projects, rest, or binge watching that series that you’ve been meaning to.
When I was younger I wouldn’t allow myself to do much binge watching because I simply believed I was “wasting my life” on popular culture. But as I’ve gotten older I’ve realized that to demonize almost any activity is more of a reflection of myself than the people actually doing it.
Like most things I think.

This person plays a video game with her mind; specifically, Shadow of the Erdtree. No hands. Just your brain. Wow.
Mira Murati says OpenAI gives the government early access to new AI models and they have been advocating for more regulation of frontier models. I feel like Mira is a walking mistake of PR for OpenAI.
For the sake of argument, let's assume every single AI company is just ignoring robots.txt because they're all shady as hell. So even though I've been asking since March, I suspect it did nothing.
I think you should assume that most AI companies literally don’t give af about your privacy. I mean, just start there.
This says it all:
According to Clément Delangue, CEO of Hugging Face, more founders are looking to sell their AI startups. Delangue says he is currently receiving inquiries from about ten founders a week who are interested in being acquired. Hugging Face itself recently announced the acquisition of Argilla for $10 million. This is the fourth acquisition for the New York startup, which raised $235 million from investors last year and is valued at $4.5 billion. Argilla develops software that allows people to collaboratively improve data sets to train artificial intelligence. Argilla's 13 employees will become part of Hugging Face, but will continue to operate independently under the same name.
I guess people are just trying to get liquidity at this point.
This looks really exciting!
In this course we will build a Storyteller AI Large Language Model (LLM). Hand in hand, you'll be able create, refine and illustrate little stories with the AI. We are going to build everything end-to-end from basics to a functioning web app similar to ChatGPT, from scratch in Python, C and CUDA, and with minimal computer science prerequisits. By the end you should have a relatively deep understanding of AI, LLMs, and deep learning more generally.
It’s via a big name engineer in the AI space, the previous AI Director at Tesla and OpenAI, etc.
Jen AI promises an AI music platform that generates work with strict copyright compliance. They call this “ethically trained” which is kind of cute.
Claude Sonnet 3.5 is blowing up my timelines and the power of this new update is really starting to catch people’s attentions. Here are some examples:
Or what about an interactive educational tool:
Or running code more efficiently:
Or what about a solar system simulation:
Or an original video game?
Or how about a fully functional app in 25 seconds?
Or advanced reasoning capabilities?
Or playable black jacks?
Or AI sound effects generator?
Or how about a 3D shooter in python with sound effects?
I mean, these are really starting to blow my mind!
This app is intriguing. You should read the story first.
And more commentary above. Enjoy.
Are you a student or teacher? This guy says you shouldn’t work on LLMs:
If you are a student or academic researcher and want to make progress towards human-level AI:
>>>DO NOT WORK ON LLMs<<<
LLMs are an off ramp.
Thousands of engineers are working on LLMs with enormous computing resources. The only way you could possibly contribute is by analyzing existing LLMs and showing their power and limitations.
But it's more fun and impactful to come up with new ideas and new architectures and show that they might work, even on small problems.
Oh, ok.
Otto Grid is a simple data automation bot that’s more powerful than it seems.
A cool story of a gal who build a Product Manager bot to bring in $6-figures:
Finally, I bring you the AI Influencer:
It’s a bit too close for comfort. Have a great one folks!
