So I Built a Tool for Eulogies
Eulogy Builder and Generator for Loved Ones? Cool.
Hey folks,
One of the things that I love about building is that you is that you get to call the shots and you get to really be the boss, which is of course a very different feeling than when you work for someone else.
Thankfully, I have a team. It's just a bunch of friends who love doing similar things. Who loves hanging out and having a really good meal. You know, basic stuff like that.
These are the precise things that I would actually say in a eulogy. I would talk about the small moments - the things that most folks would miss.
But in a moment of absolute grief, it's kind of hard to find the right words. I'm old enough to know now that death is imminent, and that I'll be attending many more funerals in my future. I don't expect to speak at most of these, or if really at any of these. But I would like to be prepared.
One of the conversations that I had with a cousin of mine was actually about building a very simple tool that would help folks who are in grief and may not have the right words to say, and give them a little bit of relief through a simple tool.
It really didn't take more than a day to put together, to be honest. But its impact is real. After answering 8 very simple questions, it designs this really nice eulogy with whatever you ask it to, and you can actually choose the tone for how you would like to present it.
And then, of course, it gives you a nice print preview so you can print it out and take it with you and go use it, unfortunately. My cousin actually had to do this for a friend, and he used an AI tool to assist and I thought that would be a perfect tool to add to DeathNote and what we're building there to help people who need it.
That's what we did.
Take a look and let me know what you think. I’d love some feedback, of course.
