Morning y’all!

It was a busy and productive weekend for me as I spent my free time working on a longer-form article for beginners, a 101 Generative AI Basics post that I’d like to get done this month. I know this one will be useful considering how often I get questions on where one should start to get caught on on all this (wonderful) madness.

Make sure to subscribe so you don’t miss out!

Secondarily, I spent time doing a few fun creative prompts which you can see here, here, here, here, here, here, here, and here — wow, that was a lot!

Have a great Monday folks!

MLBlocks

MLBlocks is a free, visual workflow that enables you to generate, edit, and analyze images using artificial intelligence! Did I mention it’s (presently) free?!

A quick video overview gives you a snapshot of what’s possible with this fine tool:

This tool is especially useful if you have repetitive tasks that you need done to images (which is the precise use case they had when they decided to develop it). For instance, let’s say that you’d like to repeat the following workflow:

  1. Input image

  2. Remove background

  3. Crop image alpha

  4. Resize the canvas

  5. Add a background color

Previously this would be an time-wasting and measurably-boring repetitive exercise but why spend time doing that when you can automate?

A basic workflow example.

The neatest trick (among many) is that you can have a single image input and generate as many outputs as you’d like with a single click. You have to actually give this a whirl to begin to understand how useful this truly is. It was an easy bookmark for me as I know of countless ways I could use it in the future.

Presently they have about 30 blocks that you can use, 8 of which are generative AI-based, such as:

  • Stable Diffusion XL

  • GPT4v

  • Remove BG

  • Upscale 4x

  • Segmentation

Their visual workflow is simple drag-and-drop so getting started isn’t too difficult:

Boop, boop, boop!

It’s a young project with a lot of potential and a number of obvious use cases that you might find useful! I hope you give it a try and see if it works for your own needs. Here’s a larger and slightly more complex workflow for designing a banner for your newsletter or blog:

Whomp.

You can see that once you build a workflow your able to save it for future use — just change a few settings that you need and you’ve got some powerful automation at your fingertips. Let’s go!

I hope that’s useful! Have a great week friends!
