The Past is Prologue, Lip-Reading Surveillance, Salesforce Enters Chat
Tools and news from the artificial intelligence world.
Morning y’all!
I’m traveling today so I’m trying to get this out a bit more early than usual! I’m headed to a place with a bit more sun and sand — I can’t wait!
See you on the other side!
I thought the same when I re-watched the entire Alien franchise a few weeks ago:
For most of my adult life I dismissed the scenes in Alien where the crew are communicating with MU-TH-UR as an unrealistic 1970's concept of what computer interfaces of the future would be like. Nowadays I realize that this is pretty much what people are doing with LLMs.
As they say, the past is prologue.
Build an iOS with Cursor and Claude. Thanks Riley! Not a fan of the format though since it started making me feel ill.
Well, this feels like maximum surveillance:
You can now upload a video of any speaker and identify inaudible speech using our model. Find out what people like Blake Lively, Taylor Swift, Lebron James, and more are saying when microphones aren't around and discover the inaudible!
The Information says that OpenAI is planning to release Strawberry, its reasoning-focused AI model, within the next two weeks. These announcements are getting much more boring and I’ll probably be sharing them less and less these days.
A real-time run of evolution of a walking mechanism by running 5000 variations in parallel and letting the best ones mutate and breed over and over. The leg linkage used in the Carpentopod walking table project is the result of running many more simulations and picking the best one.
Very neat!
Because Salesforce has been feeling left out, they did 100-in-one. What.
This space is getting commoditized heavily: More AI-powered notes.
And that’s it my friends. Short and to the point. Have a good one!
